Great is Thy Faithfulness, O God!

I can finally say it!

TOMMY has a family!

God is so awesome - He is the Redeemer!

For those of you that don't know a bit of his story, Susanna fell in love with him when she was adopting her daughter, Katie, from an absolutely horrific orphanage in Eastern Europe.  She looked at the financial qualifications to be approved from the US immigration services and saw that they didn't qualify to adopt him in 2012.  Because he was so tiny, she assumed (knowing the lack of even basic care where he was at) that he was much older than he looked, but thought maybe 10 or 11 years old at most.  She began to pray that God would work miracles so that they could go adopt him in 2013.

However, when she made inquiries about his file, she found out he is FIFTEEN years old.  By USCIS law, he HAS to be adopted by his 16th birthday or he cannot be adopted to the US.  After much heartache, Susanna began shouting from the rooftops to find a family that could race to save him!  There were only a few families that expressed interest, but there was always one roadblock or another in the way - including our family.  Finally, a family stepped forward to request his official file - but when he file arrived, his picture was horrific beyond description!  When I saw the photo I sobbed gut-wrenching, turn my heart inside out sobs - it was so horrifying - I just can't come up with another word.  I cried so hard that my chest hurt for days afterward.  How could this be done to a little child?

I had to finally say, "Blessed be the name of the LORD" regardless of whether He chose to save Tommy here in this life or not.  I had to remind myself, along with Job, of God's power, compassion, faithfulness, and perfection...I had to trust Tommy to Him.

As it turns out, the photo was probably a very old one.  Tommy has been doing much better since being assigned a "Baba" - a "grandma" that comes and plays and cares for him during the week.  God had a plan though...

Susanna made a phone call to USCIS that she was sure would prove fruitless, to see if an exception could be made.  God had an amazing gift in store for her!  USCIS adds all of a family's assets to the equation, too!  Not just the actual income!  With that, they more than qualify to adopt him.   I am just in shock!

I remember praying at the beginning that somehow Tommy could be her son, but then I thought, "This is silly, you can't change USCIS rules!"  I tried to remember God can do all things...but I must admit, it was half-hearted at best.  How I am humbled and shamed for doubting my Savior!

This will still be an expensive adoption - they all are!  If you are able to donate even a little to their fund, please pray about what God would have you do!  But please pray for them regardless.  This adoption still has to proceed very quickly and many doors need to be thrown open. Pray for God to work through each and every detail - and that His name would be glorified in every situation.

Here is sweet Tommy -

God is SO good - He is mighty to save!  Every child is precious in His sight.

Please praise the Lord with me tonight!

I am feeling those whispers again....telling me that God is calling.  I am not afraid of the call - I love hearing my Savior's voice...The hard part is waiting on Him to fully reveal what He is asking.

Waiting is so hard....I am waiting for my Gracie girl to come home....waiting is such a struggle when the time seems so very short....When my girl needs us so much.

I love the John Waller song, "Waiting" from the Fireproof movie - it struck a chord with me immediately.  He sings of how while he is waiting for God, he will continue to serve Him.  This song rolled through my heart for weeks and weeks when I first heard the redemption whispers that led us to Grace.

I need to keep serving, worshiping, and running the race while I wait for God to show me what He is whispering this time....

I will serve You, my King, while I am waiting...

Be still my heart.....

Update: Ivan has been chosen!  PRAISE THE LORD!
Oh, little Ivan, you have stolen my heart!  I will pray you home!

God must have a very special family for this very special little guy.  He is 3 years old in an Eastern European orphanage.  He was born with Apert Syndrome, which causes the skull to fuse together too soon and his hands and feet to be fused together.  Both of these issues are surgically correctable in our country!
There is a precious video of him playing with cars on this website:

Please pray for him as if he was your own son trapped in an orphanage far away.  Pray for a family to see him and fall in love!

There is also a substantial amount in his fund...but a family will need much more to save him.  Can you give up your cup of coffee this week to donate $5 toward his account?
The more money available, the easier it is for a family to commit.

Precious Savior, I know you love Ivan more than we could ever imagine....please send a family to redeem him here on earth as You have redeemed Your children.

Until He comes....praying!

These precious little ones are on my heart today!  They are in the country of B*....please pray for them!  Pray for mamas and daddies to come racing for them - that God would touch their hearts and they would be given the faith, courage, and love to give their lives for the care of these little ones that God has made...

Nothing earth-shattering....but important to us!

We are going this morning for our fingerprints!  Hooray!  No, we probably won't even do the "happy dance" in the office - but we will be smiling.  I have to laugh when I think how BIG this step was in adopting the twins from Guatemala - we were in a time CRUNCH to get the approval...our agency had submitted our dossier counting on the fact that the approval would be there in time!  I can still hear the panic in her voice when she would call and ask, "Did it come yet?"  Hmm....hopefully as lesson was learned by someone!  But our Great God had it all in control and our beautiful boys have been home for almost 8 years - WOW.

With the Prince from Ethiopia, we were waiting for the orphanage to actually open - we were the second family to go through AGCI!  But I was still excited to get this out of the way so the paperwork would be ready!  We were still waiting to see "who" God had for our family....that was over 5 years ago now - where does the time go?

(This is an older picture, 2010, with the Prince, Romeo, the Professor, and Snip)

This time, well, as I am typing I am getting more excited, but we have just been so busy that there hasn't been time to anticipate....In fact, yesterday I looked at the calendar and thought, "Oh, that's tomorrow!"  Good thing I already had my mom set up to come! :)

With Grace, we don't have to have this approval until we travel...which is still months away.  So although it will still be good to have one less thing on my list of responsibility, she still seems so far away.  Unlike the other international adoptions, we haven't really gotten any updates or pictures - so other than the photo we have and the half a dozen precious "Grace" dolls my big Helper girl has sewn for me, we are left with just full hearts and lots of prayers....

(These are my older girls...the Testy Chef, the Helper, and Snip)

Please keep praying for my girl - that God's Hand would rest upon her and that He would sing over her in His love.  Now, off to wake my precious husband up with a promise of coffee on the way!

To Christ be the glory!

Gorgeous T-shirt Fundraiser for Grace

Get your verse on!

These are truly gorgeous t-shirts for women and children with verses on them.  This company was started by friends who wanted to not only provide beautiful shirts, but also wanted a way to support adoption at the same time.

We are honored to be one of their fundraising families for the next 8 weeks!  We are so excited for this opportunity.  Please go to their website page for adoption fundraisers...

When you order a t-shirt, you must put  XXX803 in the family code box in order for us to receive the credit for the sale and it must be a shirt off of the adoption fundraiser page.

We so appreciate all your prayers and support....this way, you get a treat as well!

P.S.  I really feel that I should add that I absolutely understand that these t-shirts are expensive.  We are not used to anything above Walmart prices. :)  We are given a gift of $7.50 for each t-shirt that is sold.  So, even a gift to Grace's fund of $5, without a t-shirt, is still significant.  Tax-deductible donations can be made by clicking:
Please be sure to put "Yu-Chi" in the designate field.

We are also offering to send you 5-10 of your favorite sportscards for a gift of $10 or more.

But THE MOST important way to support us is to pray for us!  Pray for Grace's health as she waits for us.  Pray for the court process to go according to God' perfect timing.  Pray for God to provide the finances necessary for what He has asked us to do.  Pray for us as parents to many, that we would always have wisdom, patience, and joy in our journey!
